Risk Factors
Anyone who is sexually active is at risk for HPV infection, although it is more common in people between the ages of 15 and 40. Other risk factors for HPV include the following:
- Having sex at a young age
- Having many sexual partners
- Having a sexual partner who has had many partners
- Having a history of other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
